Taiwan – food

Exams… they’re finally gone… painful weeks … report submitted….

Now for the long awaited entry (by some) … my trip to Taiwan over the new year holidays.

I will first cover up on food. Just photos of food, which you might get bored by the time you see half of it…
Food in Taiwan is good, and its everywhere, anytime… Not as cheap as I had expected because it is more expensive than pasar malam food at Malaysia.  Taste on the other hand, some were really really good. Some were just aweful.

Just in case you don’t know, food is the main purpose of why i went to taiwan because I was bored of Japanese food.

blackout

Today I blacked out… my mind was pitch black… every fact I absorbed till 4am was playing hide and seek during the test…
I lost in the game. I am bound to fail today’s paper. Please pray that I don’t.
The following paper, time was only an hr. 3 questions left empty; 30 marks donated to my imaginary friend.

I just feel that sometimes, the longer i stay on this island, the shorter my life gets.

… sometimes…

edited : On the bright side, I passed JLPT Level 1

but … I didn’t achieve my targeted score :(

… nvm I passed
*tries hard to smile*

Test scores

Not sure if this is a nationwide thing, or perhaps even the world.
I am going to share what i’ve heard from my professor today.

In Japan, passing mark for exams is 60. Test papers of students below 65± are all submitted to the Board of Education of each faculty for review.
Reasons :
1. Checking the standard of that particular subject and see if it requires change of syllabus.
2. Making sure that the professors are giving fair scores.

Here’s an evil one…
3. Making sure that students who get 59 don’t get that extra pity mark *snap fingers* just like that.

I remember I read an article from BBC, and apparently some universities in the UK are giving extra scores *snap fingers* just like that, with the aim of maintaining the university ranking.

Exam : Feb 1 – 5
Tokyo : Feb 6 – 19

See ya!

Taipei Museum

here’s a quote from BBC’s website

“And the Taipei Museum is packed out with fast-moving groups of tourists from the mainland too.
You have to watch out for them very carefully or you will end up being swept off your feet in the human tide as groups attempt to set new world records for the fastest ever visit to a museum.”

… so true …

If i calculate correctly, in 2010, the total number of flights taken will be at least 12.

3. Internship
4. Grad School open campus
5. Grad School entrance exams
6. Sister’s wedding

Cold

As I breathe, white smoke can be seen billowing out from my mouth

not just outside, … in my own bedroom too

… snow fell today in this city for the first time in 4 years

… that is how cold it is now

recruitment

Seminar for probably less than 3 hours.
I have to fork out my entire month’s worth of scholarship money just to attend.
Worth it?
